North Carolina has four species of hummingbirds that visit
annually. These species are the Ruby-throated Hummingbird,
the Rufous Hummingbird, the Green Violet-ear Hummingbird
and the Calliope Hummingbird.
Now is the time to attract
these hummingbirds by adding a hummingbird feeder or planting
a hummingbird garden. There are many plants that attract
hummingbirds, Bee Balm, Buddleia, Foxglove, Honeysuckle,
Abelia and Trumpet Vine, just to name a few. |
